Mobile Design

More users than ever find their website information not on a laptop or desktop, but on a smartphone, or tablet. Think about your own day for example: if you’re looking for a new place to eat while you walk down the street or drive, what device are you using? If your answer is a laptop, then that’s an amazingly light laptop you must be carrying around. But if your answer is your mobile device, then you’re like millions of people who use the screens on their palm to decide where to take their business. Mobile design is easy enough to overlook, until it inconveniences a potential customer. The way your business website looks upon first impression, is as important on a five inch screen as it is a seventeen inch one. It’s not enough to take it for granted that your snazzy website design is going to seamlessly adapt to a mobile device; it must be optimized for the best possible user experience.

Apps and mobile sites are expanding the marketplace and the workplace, and we’re starting to see a shift in the way information is shared across different platforms. A website with fully functional mobile design expands the ways your company can do business. A user-friendly and attractive website can go a long way in making you more competitive. In fact, there are  stories of having a mobile design website winning elections. Yes, in a close race, the difference can come down to a few voters making last minute decisions, looking on their phones or tablets for relevant information and thinking, “This person looks serious. I like what I see. I have the information I need right here.”  Now think about how hundreds, thousands of decisions like that are made everyday about every kind of business: from restaurant to dentist, from a startup to a decades old family shop.

As much as you always need to be thinking of the big picture, sometimes you need to think of the small picture — the five inch one in your pocket.
